Liberty was a national English-language daily (except Sunday) published in Bangkok in September 1945 by Manit Vasuvat who was Chair of the Sri Krung Publishing Company. It was a well-written, conservative paper designed for international readers. The paper reflected the perspectives of British-educated Thais in both domestic and foreign news. It ceased in 1956.

Reasons for consideration:

As per WorldCat, libraries in Australia, Canada, Netherlands, and United Kingdom hold this title but it is unclear about their holdings in paper and/or film. None of the US libraries (Library of Congress, Cornell University, Hoover Institution, and University of Wisconsin-Madison) has the holdings 1952-1955 that UC Berkeley Library proposes to film. Though it is a small bundle but it would still be worthwhile to film this English-language newspaper of Thailand for permanent preservation and access to those who need it.
