This proposal includes scattered issues of old African newspapers still held by Library of Congress, Nairobi Office spanning a number of countries. Most of the issues have stockpiled in the office for over two decades. The titles cover diverse topics that would contribute to the understanding of the country’s politics, social, and economics conditions of the period covered. Almost all of the titles are deteriorated (yellowed, brittle and worn out) and in dire need of preservation.

In addition, twelve (12) out of the 38 titles listed in this proposal will fill gaps in existing microfilmed holdings held by CRL and the Library of Congress.
