Reasons for consideration:
This title, an influential paper which the Chicago Tribune derisively called the "Chicago Hun-tongued newspaper" (June 04, 1918, p. 7), and which was barred from mail to Canada by the Canadian government during World War I, has not been digitized elsewhere and would be valuable for scholars in North America, Europe, and elsewhere who are interested in the German-American community in Chicago. It was the largest foreign language daily paper of its time in the Midwest.
