Participating librarians and scholars provide information here about collections, archives and data sets of interest to area and international studies (AIS) research, propose preservation of those collections and the creation of new digital resources from data sets, and vote on the merits of those proposals. Community input provided here informs and guides the building of new AIS resources.

The debate on women’s role in the public life is becoming ever more relevant. Recent studies have registered the impact of women’s votes in the 2018 election in Brazil, specially showing that, for the first time in Brazilian history, men and women have different voting intentions. The feminist agenda has spread and it has been a crucial part of thinking about the country’s current situation, with the popularization of feminism and the realization that it is impossible to go back on women’s rights that have already been gained.

Caribbean archives and special collections from the University of London's Institute of Commonwealth Studies library: strong holdings on West Indian plantation life and more modern organizational archives such as that of the Caribbean Banana Exporters’ Association (ICS 148).

Latin American Pamphlets from Senate House Library
The Senate House Library of the University of London holds 680 pamphlets that "are under an exclusive licence to an online publisher until 2022" but an additional 3,000 or so covering the whole continent, mainly from the 1970s but extending from the 60s to the early 80s, all political/radical or relating to protest movements.

Mexican Intelligence Digital Archives (MIDAS)
Archive of the internal records of the Dirección Federal de Seguridad, 1947–1989, held in the Archivo General de la Nación in México. The materials document surveillance, coersion and other nefarious activities of the agency during the 1950s through 80s, and include handwrittten and typescript reports by agency personnel and informers on surveillance of political activists, labor officials and organizers and others in Mexico during the period.
DFS preceded the Centro de Investigación y Seguridad Nacional (CISEN), established in 1989, and traced its immediate origins as a government agency to the Departamento de Investigación Política y Social (1942). Municipal and Parochial Archives of the States of Coahuila and Nuevo Leon, Mexico, 1599-1972
Digitization of 4,375 microfilm rolls of archival material from the municipal and parochial archives of the Mexican states of Coahuila and Nuevo Leon held in the collection of Trinity University.
The original documents of the date from 1599 through 1972, and are contained on 4,375 microfilm reels (totalling over 6.5 million pages of primary research material) preserved from one archival collection in Coahuila and 47 collections in Nuevo Leon. Publicaciones Políticas y Culturales Argentinas (C. 1900-1950). Microfilmed by LAMP in cooperation with Centro de Documentación e Investigación de la Cultura de Izquierdas en la Argentina (CeDInCI), the collection comprises printed materials issued by the political left and anarchist movements in Argentina from the early to mid-twentieth century, including periodicals, books, pamphlets, flyers, and other publications of communist, socialist, anti-fascist, and other leftist groups.
